About Steve Koenemann

Hey! Welcome to my RateBeer HopPress beer blog. I have been a RateBeerian since early 2004 and I honestly never met a beer that I didn’t like… I just liked some of them much more than others! I consider myself a true ” hop head” and while hoppy beers (IPA, IIPA, etc.) really appeal to me, I don’t discriminate much and I enjoy most types of beer; from a sour lambic to a malty marzen. While this is my first time to write for some else’s beer blog, I have maintained my own beer blog (www.vthophead.com) for a while.
In addition to my pursuit of many things beer, I have been fortunate to do many fun and meaningful things in my life… Degrees in Biology and Secondary Education (Univ. of VT), as a teacher in the Peace Corps (Sierra Leone, W. Africa), construction estimator/project manager, classroom teacher (7th & 8th grade Science/Computers), a technology business founder/owner (12 years), Vermont Foodbank (Director of Operations) and my current stint as the VP of Information Systems and CIO at VSECU, a large credit union in Vermont. Including beer, my hobbies are travel with my wife Candy, amateur photography, fishing (when I have time) and reading SciFi.
I hope that you enjoy what you read here and come back often to share in my beer adventures!
